Valencia strike late to beat visiting Nigeria NPFL All Stars 2-1

The Spaniard notched a late goal to help the Oranges secure a narrow victory against the visiting selected Nigerian league side in a friendly on Wednesday. Rodrigo Moreno struck late as Valencia prevailed 2-1 over Nigeria Professional Football League All Stars in an international friendly on Wednesday. Goals from Alvaro Medran and Rodrigo Moreno helped Pako Ayestaran’s men secure victory despite Joseph Osadiaye’s equalizer at the Luis Súñer stadium. The hosts dominated the game against a defensive Nigeria selected side and were rewarded with a lead through Medran who beat goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa with a header in the 10th minute. Valencia retained their attacking pressure to the delight of the spectators, but Godwin Obaje got the Nigerian side their first rare scoring chance in the 23rd minute. In the 32nd minute, Osadiaye grabbed the equalizer as he headed home thanks to a defensive blunder. On the brink of half time, the La Liga outfit came close but they were stopped for an offside.In the second half, the Nigerian side held their own despite several changes to the starting line-up to snatch a point, but the hosts netted through Moreno in the 83rd minute to secure victory.
