SIX LEADERSHIP PRINCIPLES TO LEARN FROM AN EAGLE....

1. Eagles fly Alone and at High Altitudes. They don't fly with sparrows, ravens, and other small birds. *MEANING; Stay away from narrow-minded people, those that bring you down. Eagle flies with Eagles. Keep good company. 2. Eagles have an Accurate Vision. They have the ability to focus on something as far as 5km away. No matter the obstacles, the eagle will not move his focus from the prey until he grabs it. *MEANING; Have a vision and remain focused no matter what the obstacles and you will succeed. 3. Eagles do not Eat Dead things. They Feed only on Fresh Prey. *MEANING; Do not rely on your past success, keep looking for new frontiers to conquer. Leave your past where it belongs, in the past. 4. Eagles Love the Storm. When clouds gather, the eagle gets excited, the eagle uses the storms wind to lift itself higher. Once it finds the wind of the storm, the eagle uses the raging storm to lift itself above the clouds. This gives the eagle an opportunity to glide a...

BENEFITS OF BUSINESS NETWORKING

Business Networking is the act of meeting new people in a business, is a really valuable way to expand your knowledge, learn from the success of others, attain new clients and tell others about your business. I highly recommend business networking as a way to gain new clients and to build a sustainable business. Here are the top 9 benefits for business owners of getting involved in networking: 1.   Generation of referrals/Increased business                                 This is probably the most obvious benefit and the reason most business owners decide to participate in networking activities and join networking groups. The great news is that the referrals that you get through networking are normally high quality and most of the time, are even pre-qualified for you. You can then follow up on these referrals/...

3 Key Steps To Happiness.

Happiness   is that feeling that comes over you when you know life is good and you can't help but smile. It's the opposite of sadness.  Happiness  is a sense of well-being, joy, or contentment. When people are successful, or safe, or lucky, they feel  happiness . Most people aspire for total satisfaction, content, peace, and balance within themselves. This is commonly referred to as  happiness . Although we may not be completely sure of what it means at first, we all fantasize about it. However, the real question is not what happiness is, but how we reach it. I cannot say that the last four years of my life have been miserable, overflowing with problems nor that I was drowning in an ocean of hatred. Nevertheless, that did not stop me from being unhappy, for feeling as if I was not worth it or unsatisfied. Unfortunately it took me years to find a cure which I am now sharing with you. But thanks to this simple however complex formula called, ‘ T...

Are we supposed to be afraid of God?

JimsBlog Posts from the Pastor of Richmond's First Baptist Chu Skip to content BY  JIM SOMERVILL    Sunday’s sermon touched on some questions I’ve been getting in “Talkback,” my weekly question-and-answer sessions with First Baptist Church’s adult Sunday school classes.  This excerpt deals with one of those questions. Sometimes, in my Talkback sessions, someone will ask about that biblical expression, “the fear of the Lord.”  “Are we supposed to be afraid of God?” they ask.  No.  That’s not what the word  fear  means, not in that context.  It means something more like “awe,” or “reverence,” or “profound respect.”  But you can see where the word came from, can’t you?  From an experience like this one at Mount Sinai (Exodus 19): where Moses went up to receive the Ten Commandments and the people trembled in fear before the mountain of the Lord.  And when the writer of Proverbs said, “The fear of the Lord i...

FREQUENT CHANGES IN OUR EDUCATION POLICY A SOURCE FOR CONFUSION WITHIN THE SYSTEM

Sometimes one wonders if the policy makers of this country have a direction. Just as this situation applies to every aspect of our national life, it appears more confusing and directionless in the area of our education system. Our education policies seem to emerge from the whims of our heads of states who know little or nothing about education or from our ministers of education who are not clear headed enough to appreciate the direction to which they plunge the country’s education system. The Gowon administration announced the Universal Primary education programme which came into effect in 1976 even before our National Policy on Education was formulated. When Babs Fafunwan was minister of education of this country (1990-1992) he unwittingly scrapped core subjects from the curriculum of our teacher education programme at the NCE level. Thus such subjects as History and Geography were replaced with social studies while in the scien...

Positive Thinking

Positive thinking   is a mental and emotional   attitude that focuses on the bright side of life and expects positive   results. A   positive   person anticipates happiness, health and success, and believes he or she can overcome any obstacle and difficulty . We’re constantly making decisions  about work and relationships, but do you think that they’re all rational and logical? Sometimes, we don’t realize that our own positive thinking has a lot of influence over our decisions . “We can ignore reality, but we cannot ignore the consequences of ignoring reality.” -Ayn Rand- When you desire something, like achieving a goal or buying that house you saw and couldn’t get out of your  mind , you send a signal to your brain that indicates you’re missing something. Every decision you make from then on will be influenced by this desire. So what happens to reality? It transforms into what you want it to be and causes you think everythi...
