Will Smith: Counseling Saved My Marriage

Will Smith has spoken for the first time about how he and wife Jada had joint counseling to save their marriage.
Will, 47, and Jada, 44, have faced a series of troubles throughout their 19-year union, including rumors that they enjoy an open relationship.
Now Will has told how the couple sought therapy after their marriage reached breaking point. He said: “I've done a lot of marriage counseling.
“What happens in a marriage once you do counseling, the truth comes out.
“And you sit across from your wife and you've said all of your truth and she has said all of her truth. You look at each other and you can't imagine you could ever possibly love each other again now the truth is out.
“It creates a dark moment. But for me it's the dark before the dawn. When the truth comes out and people have to say who they are and what they think, you get to know who they are.
“I think that's the cleansing before you get to the other side that is understanding and moving forward in our relationship.”
Actress Jada is “Suicide Squad” star Will's second wife. They have been married for 19 years.
They have two children Jaden, 18, and Willow, 15, who have both become film stars.
Will has a son, Trey, 23, by his first wife Sheree Zampino.
Both Will and Jada have acknowledged marriage problems in the past but neither have ever admitted going to counseling together. Rumors have circulated for years that the pair have an open marriage.
Jada appeared to address the claims last year when she said: “At the end of the day, I'm not here to be anybody's watcher. I'm not his watcher. He's a grown man.
“I trust that the man that Will is is a man of integrity. So, he's got all the freedom in the world, and as long as Will can look himself in the mirror and be OK, I'm good.”

SIX LEADERSHIP PRINCIPLES TO LEARN FROM AN EAGLE....

1. Eagles fly Alone and at High Altitudes. They don't fly with sparrows, ravens, and other small birds. *MEANING; Stay away from narrow-minded people, those that bring you down. Eagle flies with Eagles. Keep good company. 2. Eagles have an Accurate Vision. They have the ability to focus on something as far as 5km away. No matter the obstacles, the eagle will not move his focus from the prey until he grabs it. *MEANING; Have a vision and remain focused no matter what the obstacles and you will succeed. 3. Eagles do not Eat Dead things. They Feed only on Fresh Prey. *MEANING; Do not rely on your past success, keep looking for new frontiers to conquer. Leave your past where it belongs, in the past. 4. Eagles Love the Storm. When clouds gather, the eagle gets excited, the eagle uses the storms wind to lift itself higher. Once it finds the wind of the storm, the eagle uses the raging storm to lift itself above the clouds. This gives the eagle an opportunity to glide a...

Are we supposed to be afraid of God?

JimsBlog Posts from the Pastor of Richmond's First Baptist Chu Skip to content BY  JIM SOMERVILL    Sunday’s sermon touched on some questions I’ve been getting in “Talkback,” my weekly question-and-answer sessions with First Baptist Church’s adult Sunday school classes.  This excerpt deals with one of those questions. Sometimes, in my Talkback sessions, someone will ask about that biblical expression, “the fear of the Lord.”  “Are we supposed to be afraid of God?” they ask.  No.  That’s not what the word  fear  means, not in that context.  It means something more like “awe,” or “reverence,” or “profound respect.”  But you can see where the word came from, can’t you?  From an experience like this one at Mount Sinai (Exodus 19): where Moses went up to receive the Ten Commandments and the people trembled in fear before the mountain of the Lord.  And when the writer of Proverbs said, “The fear of the Lord i...
